Game Description

My Zip Zap cover is a physics-based puzzle game where players solve puzzles by controlling hinges on mechanical structures.

In the game, I use the left mouse button to control the contraction and expansion of the hinges - when pressed, the hinges shrink inwards, and when released, they return to a straight position. Players' goal is to move these structures so that they touch the white circles on the screen. If the object falls off the screen, players fail and need to start over. There are 6 levels of increasing difficulty, and players can jump to any level they like.

Accuracy

I think my cover is very close to the original Zip—Zap game:

I fully restored the hinge control mechanism of the original game, using mouse clicks to simulate the touch screen operation of the phone. Using Unity's hinge system, I accurately simulated the physics effects of the original game, including the movement of the hinge, angle limits, and motor forces.

I kept the core mechanics of the original game where players win by touching the goal and lose by going out of bounds, and implemented the expansion and fading effect after the goal is touched, and the object falling effect when you win. I also included the complete game flow of level selection, restart button, and automatic entry to the next level after winning.

Overall, my cover is faithful to the original Zip—Zap game in terms of core gameplay, physics performance, and user experience.
